|New Hobie Fishing Kayak: Mirage Revolution 11|
|Friday, 05 August 2011 09:38|
Hobie has a new fishing kayak called the Mirage Revolution 11, and it won “best boat” at this year’s ICAST show. Like it’s bigger sibling the Mirage Revolution 13, this yak is designed to haul in a catch!
What makes these kayaks specifically for fishing? The cockpit areas include a large front hatch for storing gear, two molded-in rod holders make trolling possible, and an optional livewell can be added into the trunk areas. These yaks can also be rigged to with additional rod storage – Hobie also introduced the first horizontal rodholders for kayaks at ICAST – and live bait fishing options. Plus, this boat can be rigged with the Mirage Drive pedal system, freeing up your hands to cast, reel, and net.
The Mirage Revolution 11 has an LOA of 11′6″, and is 29″ wide. Weight capacity is 300 pounds, and hull weight is 47 pounds. No doubt, this is one nifty rig. The down-side? It isn’t cheap, with a list cost of $1,749. As usual, you get what you pay for!
