Ocean Independence sends word that the 141-foot Holland Jachtbouw sailing yacht This Is Us not only is still available for a Christmas charter in the Caribbean, but that the owner has reduced the weekly base rate to entice a booking.

The regular weekly base rate to charter This Is Us during the holidays is €70,000. The new weekly base rate is €50,000. That’s a discount of about 30 percent, and it is lower than the yacht's low-season base rate of €64,000.

The only stipulations are that the charter must take place from December 21-28, and it must end in St. Martin.

This Is Us is a 2005 build that originally launched from the Dutch shipyard as Skylge. I was last onboard This Is Us in December 2010, about six months after her current owner took possession. At the time, she looked fantastic, and I have no reason to believe that situation has changed. Also worth noting is that at the time, her lowest weekly base rate was $72,000—which, as of today's exchange rate, is about the same as the new weekly base rate the yacht’s owner is seeking for the holiday booking.
